There are a lot of legends that refer to the discovery of the natural gases, which are being extracted here for 100 years. The legend of the "burning water" says that a shepherd burned a fire near a spring and the water started to burn, too. Bazna was documentary attested in 1302. The German colonists established on the other side of the hills. Later, they discovered the beauty of Bazna Valley and they moved here and built a fortified church in the center. The resort is situated on the right side of the valley, at the foot of the hills, close to the oaks and beech forest.

Climate
The climate is temperate, with cool summers, mild winters, and long and pleasant autumns and the average annual temperature is 8.6 C.
Mineral waters containing salt and iodine are used for baths, which have a complex therapeutic effect due to thermo, mechanic and chemical factors. "Bazna" mud doesn't need to be prepared for treatment due to its original plasticity.
The mud is heated at 42-45 C, and it is used for skin packing.
Boiling and evaporating mineral waters obtain "Bazna" salt. It is used for cataplasms and compresses on the abdomen.
