We may say that hunting appeared on Earth in the same time with the human being.
At the beginning, it was a necesity, representing the only way people could provide     food, fur and leather clothing for their families.
In the modern time, hunting was no longer considered a mean of survival, becaming a sport activity, a way of recreation for the aristocracy. Greek historian Xenophon argued that hunting is an asset to society, considering that the recreation promotes the well-being and the health of the hunter. The first laws designed to conserve game animals were instituted in the 13th century, when Kublai Khan, emperor of the Mongols, forbade his subjects to hunt during animal breeding seasons.
The invention of gunpowder in the 14th century and the perfection of the matchlock rifle in the 15th century represented a very important moment in the hunting history. The hunting methods became much easier and with better results.
Hunting in Romania has proved to be a great adventure for those who have tried it. A great variety of landscapes populated by a large number of wild animals are waiting to be discovered.
