Prejmer Fortress

Prejmer Fortress (15th century) – is the best-preserved peasant fortress of Transylvania, included in the UNESCO patrimony. It is a great fortress with many rooms on many levels. The walls have 4 m thickness and it was the powerful peasants fortress in Transylvania. 12 m high walls, protected by water ditches, by four towers and two advanced reinforcements, surrounded this fortress. There was built a fortified church after the Turkish invasion under the influence of early Gothic.
